The calm before the storm

Happy Monday Ya'll
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Santa was awesome and we were evidently well behaved enough to make the good list. I'm guessing he looked the other way that day I yelled *^&&* out the window at the blue hair club in the parking lot of the grocery.
Santa arrived some where between the hours of 1-3 am and Alexis was opening presents at 412 in the am. Just so ya'll know.....Santa has a sense of humor besides all the goodies he dropped off he also brought us a case of the chicken pox.......thank you, you jolly ole (son of a bitch) sigh. All sign of Christmas have been cleared, now like Sheliza from mom files we are in the cleaning / organizing mode. The New Year is just right around the corner and like everyone I have a lot of resolutions I am pondering...
Just want to make sure whatever i resolute, I don't set myself up for failure.
Almost forgot Santa brought a Wii way way fun!!!! does anyone have the Wii fit? and is it good?

MERRY CHRISTMAS YA'LL
May all your Christmas dreams come true. Thank you all for sharing your lives with me and peeking into mine. I was very hesitant about blogging I really didn't think anyone would be interested in what I had to say. I know I am not very eloquent and my sentences go on for ever but I am who I am and it is what it is. Stay with me hopefully like fine wine and good chocolate I'll get better at this blogging stuff.

Picnic in the park.....Prosac before dark
Whew we are home ,we left at 10 this am for the park beautiful day here in Texas 70 degrees, sunny skies, 5 days before Christmas two best friends should be a no brainer good time......
Yeah Right from the get go the fighting whining started they both wanted to sit in the same spot, one wanted to listen to Christmas music one wanted to sing Christmas music, one got a different my my little pony in thier McDonald's happy meal ( even though I very nicely requested that each meal contain the exact same toy)obviously at MacDonald's they do it there way and not my way.The Park we went to is a city park and is a badass park it has 15 different play areas(we hit each one) a place to feed the ducks, a rodeo arena where there is always someone riding horses and they always are obliging in letting kiddos pet and kiss and even ride em.
Nothing made these 2 ahemm...she devils happy, I interacted I pushed on the swings, I played tag hell I even played in the sand. I gave them there space and tried to meet my happy but up with a bench and read or play on the computer. NOTHING I SAY MADE THEM HAPPY
So here we are at home with 2 hours to go before the friend gets picked up they can and will sit in front of the TV hope Drake and Josh or Hannah doesn't mind babysitting cause I give up.

Armadillo class
Its official I have no sense of style/class and or culture, the fambly and I attended an Austin original http://www.armadillobazaar.com/ now this is a event that is 32 years running in Austin featured in many a magazine and news story. Its a must see and do type thing. The entry fee was reasonable $6.00 per person little ones free. From the minute we stepped foot inside I knew I wasn't on the ranch toto. Austin motto is keep Austin weird/music capitol of the world. And weird this bazaar was ...... women dressed in fur coats, high heels, jewelry that did not come from the Walmart. The vendors them selves ranged from urban hippies,to full blown freaky, to downright amazing. The truly blow your mind thing was how proud of their doodads they were ,three digit price tags was the norm. Now mind you when I start paying three digits for something it better make my life more easy.productive, more interested in sex and less interested in that snicker bar, something I tell ya.
So here we are on the verge of the last weekend of shopping before Christmas, are ya'll planning on being brave, resourceful, bargain hunting and hitting the stores?
Ummmm not me...... Sat were hitting the park (again) this time with a little friend
so at least moms big ole happy butt can maybe meet up with a bench somewhere and hold your breath ya'll maybe look at a book and gasp actually read a page or four. We pause this rambling to ask.... what did ya'll get for the hubby's I am truly at a loss this year, for all my complaining that he aint right, he really was awesome through all my surgeries this summer and doctoring me, he still is changing the bandages twice daily for me, hmmmm should i get him a doctors kit hehehehe think he will see the humor in it?or maybe since I caught him cutting a board in half with a chain saw maybe I should buy him one of them there circular saws? and men bitch when we use there 50 dollar cordless screwdrivers to hammer in a nail.(SHAKING OF THE HEAD-SHRUGGING OF THE SHOULDERS) who knew you couldn't use it right?

Bits and pieces
Got a call from my son Friday afternoon, hes frantic mom I'm changing banks, wait till you hear what they did to me. Sigh I am almost scared to hear what "they have done to him" his paycheck is direct deposited and when he went to use his debit card low and behold there was no money- his whole paycheck went to the bank in over draft fees. Son I said did you not write down every transaction? no I kept a running balance in my head and I called the bank every day to check my balance. basically happened was..... some debits did not debit the same day or even the next, so when he checked his balance it showed the same amount so he thought he had more money. sigh.... he will learn. My first instinct was to offer him some money, but what I did make a pot of sloppy joes, buy some buns a gallon of milk and take them over to him. I must say for the first time in a while he acted like he really needed me again.
I received some very much needed alone time sat, Alexis spent the the day with grandma and hubby worked. Yahoooooo I cleaned house, and did a little last minute Christmas shopping.
I cannot begin to explain how nice it was to have the day to myself.
Sunday it was 80 degrees here in Texas, Alexis and I took a picnic and spent the day at the park.
I had all the windows open all day and night, somewhere between midnight and 600 am
a cold front came in,and when I woke up the high temp was 30 and never got higher than 34 go figure only in Texas at least in Wisconsin where I am originally from, we knew when it was winter/summer ect. none of this hot to cold bullshit in 15 min flat. I have found myself rethinking the last year and how incredibly fast it went by, between rediscovering a best friend and blogging, struggling every day not to smoke and spending a good part of the year in the hospital it sure doesn't feel like I accomplished a whole lot this year. Believe me I had extremely high ambitions for the year, un fortunately ambitions need allot of sweat and equity to reach them
high hopes I had,an over abundance of sweat and equity fell far short.

Kick butt and take names later
So I get this frantic call last night from my 18 yr old..... mom the toilet wont stop running!!!! what do I do? did you clog it with tissue? (while living at home this was a major issue)no ma honest I didn't, ok did your try to plunge it? no ma the water is running from the inside of the tank what do i do? CALL MAINTENANCE right now...lol. about an hour later he calls its fixed mom, good I say, ma can I come over and do laundry tomorrow? yes son you can.. lol
I strongly feel the need to hubby bash this evening ( now know it aint right to bash em publicly )but dang the man has gotten on my very last nerve lately. I swear he has his own version of pms or something. Normally hes a happy go lucky type of guy but man the last couple of days hes been just down right ugly, (and yes he is gettin his share of loving) SO IT HAS NOTHING to do with that.
Example: Paula how long have you been driving with your tags out? ummmm I didnt know they were expired. Damn paula do you pay any attention at all?ummm actually no I don't but since you drive my truck as much as I do.....do you pay any attention at all?
Example:Did my work clothes make it in to the washer? yes Chris they did! Did they make it into the dryer? No Chris they didn't I forgot to pay attention.
grrrrrr

Ho Ho Ho
The tree is up and decorated, the village is set up, other misc chrismas decorations can be spotted through out the house. The outside is a small beacon of lights sure to blind single prop pilots. Alexis is asking for everything, and having small meltdowns on a regular basis..... yup its beginging to look a lot like christmas. The presents are just about all bought. No cookies or candies yet but hoping to start on those this weekend.
My best friend Rhonda-http://ledbesidestillwaters.blogspot.com/ wrote in her blog about finding super heros in the Nativity set some years ago,and it got me to thinking about Christmas's past when Tyler was little I would find those little plastic green army men all over the tree, and base camp set up all around the bottom of the tree. And then the enemys camp would be set up in my village scene I remember getting a little bent about those things back then. Now Tyler is 18 almost 19 has his own apartment, a good job, a girlfriend and not alot of room for his momma right now ( which is ok I understand) he spent Thanksgiving at the girlfriends parents and stopped in for about 15 here, and when asked about christmas he hesitated and talked about the girlfriend ect... I like this girl and maybe shes the one...
By Gods grace I get to do Santa and all the wonder again with Alexis-(and when I say by Gods grace I mean it cause I was on depo shot when I got preggers with her) and Im hoping I wont get as bent when barbies and my little ponies parade around the village scene.
